OUR STORY
Founded in 2017 by the visionary Utkarsh Ahuja,
Basanti stands at the forefront of the fashion
industry, innovating contemporary styles that fuse fast fashion with timeless elegance. At Basanti, we are dedicated to refreshing your wardrobe with designs that blend modern simplicity with romantic flair, all while ensuring affordability.
My grandfather came to India in 1947 with nothing. In the next 4 decades he
did everything he could to give his family a shelter, a stable living &
abundance of love. In 1988 he & my father started trading women's textiles
in Chandni Chowk. My father & mother pioneered & championed the
women's textile white labelled market over the next 2 decades. • In 2010, I
joined the family business, with my own ambitions. In 2017, we launched
#basanti. My grandfather came up with the name. The brief was simple - it
should be unforgettable. I added the #kapde aur koffee -because for me, it
was all about revolutionising the buying experience. In 2018 we went
online. In 2019 we introduced our Warehouse
Experience Centre. In 2023 - we opened our first store outside NCR. In
2024, we opened Khan Market, a landmark of love,
resilience & passion dedicated to my grandfather.
