The other day I was speaking to one of my friends who got married this February, just before the lockdowns happened & unfortunately couldn’t even get a honeymoon. No dinners, no get-togethers her life had been a bland indoors event if I was to speak of it according to her as she married a guy who had been with her since college.
She told she been fasting for a couple of years but this was the first year she actually had to celebrate Karwa Chauth traditionally with her Mother-in-Law, and she only wondered what she could expect. With the pooja & all the events around that day, her mind was just anxious about how she could bring a little joy even as the situation around us becomes tenser with COVID. Her relationship with her mother-in-law is lovely but as you live 24x7 within the same walls gaps do tend to arise. Life happens & opinions happen & so relationships evolve, and it is in our hands what we do with them. So as traditions imply, I suggested to help her relationship in the house, she gifts her mother-in-law a beautiful Unstitched suit set and put a small handwritten note along to appreciate how everyone at home had helped her settle in.
